The team behind PayIt2

Brian founded PayIt2 in 2007 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with a vision to make group payment collection as simple as sharing a link. What started as a solution for team dues and event tickets has grown into a platform serving organizers of fundraisers, events, legal defense campaigns, and community groups across the country.

With a degree in Computer Information Systems from Western Michigan University, Brian has spent nearly two decades building and refining PayIt2. He understands the challenges organizers face firsthand, from launching a first campaign to scaling collections for large events. His approach has always been organizer-first: remove friction, keep fees transparent, and let people focus on their cause rather than the technology.

Brian is also active in the Grand Rapids technology community. He serves on the West Michigan Technology Council Executive Advisory Board and co-chairs the Innovation Ecosystem Committee of the Right Place Strategic Technology Taskforce. He is an investor with Grand Angels, a West Michigan angel investment group providing capital and mentorship to entrepreneurs.

Joel co-founded PayIt2 with Brian Anderson, bringing over 25 years of software engineering and product development experience to the platform. A Michigan State University Computer Engineering graduate, Joel has been building software products since 1999, with deep expertise in payment systems, platform architecture, and operational reliability.

At PayIt2, Joel focuses on the technical and operational foundation that makes the platform work for organizers and participants. His philosophy is straightforward: bring structure to vision and momentum to stalled projects. He ensures that every transaction is smooth, every payout is fast, and every organizer can trust the system handling their money.

Joel's experience spans the full lifecycle of payment products, from early-stage development through scaling to thousands of users. He brings a practical, execution-focused approach to everything he builds, prioritizing reliability and simplicity over unnecessary complexity.

Thomas leads PayIt2 as CEO, bringing a career that bridges fintech, healthcare IT, and cloud infrastructure. He spent 8 years in fintech at Global Forex Trading before moving into healthcare technology, where he spent nearly a decade at Cloudticity managing cloud infrastructure for healthcare organizations, overseeing HIPAA, HITRUST, and FedRamp-compliant environments and $42M in annual IT budgets.

A PMP and seven-time AWS-certified architect, Thomas brings a security-first, compliance-driven approach to PayIt2. He joined as CEO in 2023 to lead the platform's next chapter: a complete technology rebuild with modern infrastructure, AI-powered tools, and a deliberate focus on serving causes that other platforms won't, including legal defense fundraising.
